Silica Gel: DO NOT EAT'
With all the boxes and gifts opened recently, you've probably spotted a silica gel packet or two. These can be found in shoe boxes, handbags, electronics, as well as things made of leather to keep them dry while they are packaged. Varying in size from itty bitty to pouches as big as a credit card for things like furniture, silica gel itself is not usually something to be concerned about and mild stomach upset is usually all that is seen. Concerns arise when packets come out of medication bottles OR if your pet is small and the packet is plastic and/or on the larger size.
