More Heat Safety Tips / Reminders

We see countless people walking their dogs in elevated temperatures. Remember that asphalt / concrete temperatures are higher than the posted air temp. Also keep in mind that dogs have different cooling systems than we have. Take your walks during the cooler times of morning & evening.

When it's too hot to walk outside, only venture out for expedient "potty" breaks. You can provide mental stimulus indoors by playing with your dogs. There are puzzle games that are available for purchase. However, you can easily make these with household items. You can stack cooking pots of varied sizes, with treats or toys inside. Or, use a muffin pan and tennis balls. Have a Toy Party, scatter feed, play tug or find it games.
