Episode 56: Mar 23, 2023
Some people prefer cats or dogs. Other people love them both equally. I am in the latter group. Growing, my mom & I had a cat, as she is a dedicated cat person. When I was single, my heart belonged to my feline, Romeo. Rental homes welcomed cats but not dogs. I'd never had a dog until marriage. Keith had a Keeshond named Bandit. Gratefully, Bandit & Romeo didn't bother each other. Our families meshed seamlessly.
When Romeo & Bandit moved on, we took a few years to ensure that we were ready to adopt again. Then Nali, our Husky, rescued us. That was 8 years ago, and Nali will soon be 11. I will share her photograph in her birthday post. A year later, Sophia, our Mini Schnauzer, adopted us. She will soon turn 13. Three years later, we were joined by a puppy. Kiba is a German Shepherd Blue Heeler mix. She's the first puppy I've ever had & the second for Keith. I've learned so much from all three pups.
Some of us are lucky enough to love & be loved by animals. This bond is so strong & special.
We care for our pets, keep them safe & love them. However, they are the ones who teach us about life. When we truly listen, animals have countless life lessons to share with us. Enjoy your quality time with these special creatures. I will.
