Happy Mother's Day!

Updated: Jun 26, 2023

May 14, 2023: Episode 70

I've included last year's post below. I'm recycling it, as it still rings true in my heart. I was a mother well before having children. I cared for & protected other creatures, human or not, stranger or not. Countless beings upon our earth are natural mothers.

Our family embodies these characteristics. "J" reminds people on video games to hydrate, & creates joy with her impeccable comedic timing. "H" instinctively knows when hugs are needed, and offers them without words. She also values her friends as family members. "A" knows that "love is the most important thing", and lives by this. Keith sees the good in everyone & compliments strangers. Nana & Grandpa can make anyone laugh.

Our world needs more "mothers". In my mind, gender & procreation have nothing to do with the true mothers of our earth. Thank you for all you do! We appreciate all your "behind the scenes" work, and your acts that you think nobody is aware of. You're making the world a better place and we love you!

I have one request that may be challenging for the true & natural mothers. Do something for YOU! Taking care of yourself isn't selfish. It's necessary. Take a bath, a walk, read a book for pleasure instead of knowledge, start that project, buy an impractical gift, take that trip, say no, reinforce your boundaries, sleep in, go out to eat... etc. Do something for you to replenish yourself. You deserve it.

(Mother's Day 2022) My definition of "mother" isn't exclusive to those who have children, as countless angels upon this earth act as mothers to other angels. They are kind, loving, respectful, nurturing and protective of nature, animals, strangers and loved ones! Happy Mother's Day to all these angels. You are beyond incredible and we are eternally grateful for you!

With all my gratitude, love & understanding,

Nakala #
