Giving back to our community is a vital part of our mission.

1. RESPECT: We are respectful to all.
​
2. MILITARY SERVICE: I served 6 years as a medic in the United States Army. I was honorably discharged in 2003. ​
​
3. NON PROFIT: We opened a non profit organization in order to positively impact our community on a grander scale. Details will be forthcoming.
​
4. OUT OF THE BOX IDEAS which assist our community: Here is one example. The Kind Canine had a client whose pup wasn't a good candidate to visit a grooming facility. Desiree of Woof To Wow Dog Training & Keith of Sits & Wiggles joined together to groom this pup, & alleviate undue stressors.
5. FREE CONSULTATIONS: Sits & Wiggles offers free consultations for all services.
6. VOLUNTEERING: For the past few years, Keith has served on the Oregon Habitat for Humanity Homeowner Advisory Council. He is the only Central Oregon representative. I volunteer at the Bend Habitat for Humanity Restore.
Our availability for volunteering has decreased as we're actively building our business. In the past, we've volunteered with local non profits: Neighbor Impact Head Start, Bend LaPine School District, Salvation Army, Girl Scouts of Oregon & SW Washington, The Humane Society, & Caring for Troops.
We established & led a multi level troop of 14 scouts for two years. Members ranged from Daisies to Cadettes (kindergarten to middle school) & we met weekly. We created the troop when we discovered that there wasn't a local troop where sisters could be together.
Prior to relocating to Bend, we volunteered with The March of Dimes, The American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance & Hospice homes.

7. TRANSPARENCY: S&W clearly shares our rates, hours, skills, experience & training philosophy on our website, contract, Facebook & Google. This assists our community by saving pet parents time & energy, as they don't have to search or call us for the details. This is a show of respect. Our contract is thorough & minimizes the opportunity for misunderstanding. Our program uses GPS tracking of handlers to provide our clients peace of mind. In addition, we welcome cameras in & out of the home. Being transparent offers our community a sense of safety, which is priceless.

8. FREE SAFETY ADVOCATING: Keith has accompanied several of our local dog trainers, pet sitters & dog walkers on their initial in person meetings with clients, to ensure safety. Premier Pet Care is one of the companies who have utilized this service.
​9. FREE PET SITTER GUIDELINES: I've shared pet care provider interview guidelines on our blog, Facebook & Nextdoor. On Facebook, this is listed in the pinned posts, for ease of access. These guidelines have assisted pet parents in locating dependable & safe care providers. I will gladly email these to you.

10. RESOURCE ACCESS: I created a resource group about a decade ago: Central Oregon Resources on Facebook. Most of the helpful resources are located in the files section. I've duplicated much of these resources onto our website, under the resources tab. Some details pertain to animals. Others assist with food banks, utility assistance & mental health access, & more.

11. COMMUNITY BUILDING: I created a community group where pet parents & pet providers can connect. Central Oregon Pet Services can be found on Facebook. Parents are welcome to seek services while providers may market their offerings. S&W stays silent when clients seek services here, in order to offer the jobs to other businesses & individuals.
12. FREE INTERVIEW ASSISTANCE: When we're unable to accommodate the requested dates; or if our rates don't work for the pet parent; we offer our time & experience in interviewing other pet providers. We've attended in person meetings between the client & provider. We've also provided pre & post interview phone guidance. This service is available to all community members; not solely to our clientele. Whether you choose to hire us or not, we will invest our time & energy to assist you, to the best of our ability. This is to help keep our human & animal community members safe.

13. ACCESSIBILITY & CONVENIENCE: Since opening day, Sits & Wiggles has worked & been open on every holiday. We are also open nearly every day of the year. For 2023, we were open & working every day of the year.
We provide every client 3 phone numbers to text or call us on. They also can communicate through email or through our program Time to Pet. Potential clients can contact us via Google, Facebook, Instagram, our website, phones, texts or email. We also offer a few payment options.

​​​14. COMPETITIVE RATES: Our rates are not the highest nor the lowest among local pet professionals. With decades of collective experience, our services are value packed.

15. INFORMATIVE TOPICS: Our blog, Facebook & Nextdoor posts include topics such as safety warnings & more.​​​​

16. FREE CONTRACT ASSISTANCE: I've assisted care providers with building & amending their contracts, in order to protect all parties: the pets, the parents & the provider.
17. FREE MENTORING: S&W has always provided mentoring services to new & aspiring entrepreneurs. We've assisted other businesses in becoming licensed, insured & established. You're welcome to contact us with any queries.

18. LOST ANIMALS: Our family has always stopped to assist lost pets. We've been able to reunite some with their families, while others we've connected to the Humane Society.
​
19. SUPPORTING LOCAL businesses & non profit organizations: Sits & Wiggles highlights local small businesses & nonprofits on our website as well as social media business pages. On Giving Tuesday & Small Business Saturday, we shared the organizations that we have utilized & recommend. We have highlighted some of the Local Heroes who work within our animal community.
